10 or 100? 10 isn't really good enough for me. I don't think I'm that great at GW anyway, but supposing I was. i don't believe the game supports competitive gameplay that well...
You can't really go to LAN tournaments, unless they're an official one.
You can not see in game pings.
Just joined a friends guild as I don't play so much now and it suited me the most. Why do you ask? Bought another remote helicopter. Spring and Summer ftw. Uhm. I don't remember full guild name XD.
I know you're going to try push GW as a competitive game where you can get money, but that's really not the case. In quake you could say go to WCG/CPL get loads of money there, but there'd be loads of mini LAN tournaments around the country, or another country . This way, you could rack up money and get a sponsor to help you in doing so...

Don't know many Q2 Dutch players, but for other FPS games Dutch people are extremely good. If you faced people like Lauke, Vo0 etc then it is no problem if you lost. I'm sure you could have got some money if you wanted, sponsors or other easier LANs .

Answered yourself, yet you're wrong anyway.
The R15 emote will take a while to get, plus if I'm still gaming then - I'd rather get paid for it. GW doesn't really support professional gaming much. Is no reason to try in it, to be honest.
That is what it had to do with, then someone tried to argue and such.

isnt that emote the phoenix one oO. wasnt that your first clue? :P
as for quake an ut, you make it sound like its so easy to get cash.. Its not. Painkiller was semi-good for making some cash, provided you were ready to travel around the globe (which is all the fun actually). show me a UT comp with decent prizes..
q4 was good at the start, then dropped a bit, no idea how it looks now

Sigh, why does this have to turn into some long argument about pro gaming, the fact is GW doesn't really support it that's all I meant and then it goes on and on and on.
Anyways - to answer your question:

Nvidia pay for flights anyways and I would be 23. I don't see that as an issue. PK wasn't fun. Infact I remember asking Zaccubus (friend from UT) what he thought and he was like 'it isn't as good as UT but I'm only playing to get paid'.
The point about the comment I made about GW was that if I was going to spend a lot of time in a game I'd want to be paid something for it. I would also want it to be fun too. I have a job and I have money - so sure I may find it nice getting free hardware and money but I would want the game to be fun too. PK wasn't.

WCG, CPL, ESWC, had decent prizes for UT. A lot of LAN's around europe pay pretty well. UT also opens you up to other games, for example I was good at UT and because of it - it helped me play Quake4 (my first few games I was playing with mouz).
I don't see why you say 'show me' when we're talking about the future here . Did you look at my comment?
One being a reply to Ayame asking which game I get paid from. I don't have to enter a competition for UT. Well excluding online tournaments. Sponsors still pay me.
The other comment was more relating to the future:
Quote:
Hmm, I'll be 23 then XD. If I reach that age and am wasting my time on a game I get no money from, then I think I will really want to kill myself..
|
With UT2007 comming up, there is bound to be a lot of tournaments for it, so if I was going to spend a lot of time and effort in a game it would be more logical to play UT2004 (and yes, not make a lot of money) then be prepared for UT2007; however, I simply can not see that it would be as easy to make money in GW or GW2 as it is UT

I was clearly talking about two years from now. Two years from now UT2007 will have tournaments, lots of people will be being sponsored. A much higher percentage of people (excluding the farmer type people who sell on ebay) will be recieving pay for gaming compared to guildwars.

It should be some kind of flash-back movie thing: just random images flashing like rift wardens, etc. etc. and a ghostly hero at the end using claim resource. That'd be awesome

As the word 'God' implies that the religion is monotheistic, this doesn't make any sense because Guild Wars obviously has a polytheistic 'religion',(more than 1 god). Anyways i think this title shouldnt be maxed.

it won't be the max title -- or maybe they just make it max for time being, but i really doubt that anyone will ever reach anything higher (if they have 15 that is, although i doubt that also) looking at the required fame you'd need.
so yeah, it's understandable if it turns out to be the maxed title.

I don't know any old school player who would agree with that. PK was the closest any game has come to the physics and gameplay of the QuakeWorld days (yes, Q1). It took over as the main event game for CPL/CAL when it came out, pushing CS and Q3 out of the way, and didn't get replaced until Q4 came out.
UT has never had that kind of following as far as I know. Tbh, TFC and Q3 were so much better, so was 2001-era CS.

That's great, I know plenty who'd agree. I'm bored of debating a four year old subject though lol xD.
